Bowlers with Barnhart Transportation were striking up support Sunday for a local non-profit organization.
Barnhart helped to raise money for the Mercy Center for Women through their annual Barnhart Gives Initiative.
The company’s CFO said it’s a great team-building initiative and is a good way for everyone to get involved in giving back.
“One of our core values is to give back to our community. We have these every year. We have three basic charity events every year; we do the bowling tournament, we have a sporting clay shoot, and we also have a golf outing. We rotate who we give our donations to as based on our employees. They vote on where they want the money to go to every year,” said Tim Barnhart, CFO of Barnhart Transportation.
One of Barnhart’s lead organizers of the bowling tournament passed away over the last year; the group decided to rename it to the “Brandie Bernatowicz Memorial” in her honor.
