MCW Receives $1.75M Anonymous Gift
Erie, PA – The Mercy Center for Women today announced a transformative $1.75 million gift from an anonymous
donor. This marks the largest single contribution in the Center’s history and will provide critical support for
families fleeing domestic abuse, homelessness, and addiction.
“We are incredibly grateful to this generous donor for their incredible generosity,” said Jennie Hagerty, Executive
Director of the Mercy Center for Women. “This gift will ensure long-term housing stability and sustainability for
the women, men, and children we serve.”
The Mercy Center for Women provides safe haven and supportive services to families in need. With this new
funding, the Center will be able to expand its campus life and its mission will continue to grow throughout the
Erie community.
“No words can define the true blessing our Christmas Angel has delivered to our families this season,” said
Hagerty. “Our gift in return will be to deliver a journey of warmth, love, safety, and transparency to our donor
and the Erie community.”
The Mercy Center for Women is committed to honoring the donor’s wish to remain anonymous. However, the
Center’s leadership expressed their deepest gratitude for this life-changing contribution.
“As 1 Timothy 6:20 reminds us, ‘Keep safe what has been entrusted to you,’” said Hagerty. “We take this
responsibility very seriously and are committed to using this gift wisely to make a lasting impact on the lives of
those we serve.”
