Mercy Center receives more than $600,000 for new housing program
In recognition of the more than $600,000 grant the Mercy Center recently received, DCED Secretary Dennis Davin visited Erie and held a press conference to announce the award. The former Holy Rosary School, renamed the Mercy Anchor Community Center, is currently being renovated and will include 13, two-bedroom apartments, a fitness center, food pantry, community room, Dress for Success-Erie, a thrift shop and space for social service agencies. The businesses who showed their support through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) include Accudyn, American Tinning & Galvanizing, Calypso Enterprises, Erie Insurance, Marquette Savings Bank and Northwest Bank.
