About the Project
The Mercy Center for Women is transforming the former Holy Rosary Rectory into a nine-bedroom supportive housing facility designed specifically for women transitioning out of the prison system. This project aligns with our mission of empowering women through housing, education, and supportive services, helping them build independent, stable futures.
Why This Project?
Women leaving incarceration face numerous challenges, including:
✅ Lack of stable housing and employment opportunities
✅ Barriers to mental health care, addiction recovery, and family reunification
✅ Higher risk of homelessness and recidivism
By providing safe housing with on-site support services, we are giving these women the tools they need to rebuild their lives, achieve self-sufficiency, and break the cycle of incarceration.
Renovation & Construction
🔹 Location: Former Holy Rosary Rectory, part of the Mercy Center campus
🔹 Renovations Include:
✔️ NFPA 13D fire sprinkler system
✔️ Electrical, plumbing, and lighting upgrades
✔️ Kitchen renovation and shared living spaces
✔️ Individual storage lockers and updated flooring
Renovations are led by Frontier General Contracting, the same team that successfully transformed the Holy Rosary School into the Mercy Anchor Community Center (MACC) in 2020.
Supportive Services for Residents
This reentry housing program follows the same policies and procedures as our transitional housing program at Mercy Center for Women. Residents will have access to:
✅ Case management & counseling
✅ Job readiness & financial literacy training
✅ Mental health & addiction recovery services
✅ Family reunification support
Our goal is to help each resident transition into permanent housing and independent living.
Together, we can provide a second chance and a brighter future for women in need. 🌿💙
